How EMBODY is Different
Most approaches work in one direction. Therapy works top-down: insight, understanding, cognitive reframing. Somatic work goes bottom-up: breathwork, body awareness, nervous system calming. Both help. Neither is complete on its own.
EMBODY works in both directions at once. Body-up somatic regulation builds your nervous system's capacity to handle stress. Brain-down RTT® addresses the subconscious beliefs that keep your system stuck in protective mode. When you work both simultaneously, change happens faster and lasts longer.

How EMBODY Works
A Practical, Evidence-based Framework
The programme combines nervous system education, real‑time assessment, personalised regulation tools, and RTT® to address both physiological and subconscious patterns.
Matched With Your State
Your nervous system can shift into hyperarousal (increased alertness, tension, difficulty settling) or hypoarousal (low energy, disconnection, reduced capacity). Most people move between both, and each state needs a different approach. EMBODY teaches you to identify which state you're in and use the right tool for it.
Real‑Time State Identification
You’ll learn how to identify your current state using clear, observable indicators. This helps you choose tools that match what your system is doing, rather than relying on generic strategies.
Personalised Regulation Tools
You’ll develop a toolkit tailored to your specific patterns. These tools are practical, repeatable, and designed for everyday use.
RTT® (Rapid Transformational Therapy)
Some nervous system responses are reinforced by long‑held beliefs or associations. RTT® helps identify and rewire the neural pathways that keep us repeating these patterns, so regulation becomes more accessible and sustainable.
The aim is to build a system with more capacity, flexibility, and consistency.
Window Of Tolerance.
Think of your nervous system as having a "sweet spot"- a range where you can handle stress, feel emotions, and think clearly without getting overwhelmed or shutting down.
This is your window of tolerance (a concept from Dan Siegel's work on interpersonal neurobiology).
When stress pushes you outside this window, you go into either:
Hyperarousal (above the window): Wired, anxious, racing thoughts, reactive
Hypoarousal (below the window): Numb, shut down, exhausted, disconnected
When you're outside your window, your thinking brain goes offline. You react automatically. You can't access what you know.
The problem for most burned-out professionals: Your window has gotten smaller and smaller over years of chronic stress. It doesn't take much to push you outside it anymore. A single critical email. One difficult conversation. Normal work stress that you used to handle without thinking.

Therapy helps you understand your patterns. EMBODY helps your body change them. Most people in therapy know exactly why they react the way they do - and their body still hijacks them in meetings, still won't let them sleep, still swings between wired and shut down. That's a nervous system problem, not an insight problem. EMBODY teaches you to assess your state and shift it in real time.

Yes. EMBODY complements therapy - many clients work with therapists for cognitive and emotional processing while doing EMBODY for nervous system regulation. They address different systems. Please inform your therapist about your participation.

No. That's actually a sign your nervous system needs activation, not calming. Most regulation tools assume everyone needs to "calm down." But if you're in shutdown -exhausted, disconnected, foggy - calming techniques make it worse. EMBODY teaches bidirectional regulation: when to upregulate (build energy and capacity) and when to downregulate (release tension and arousal). You'll learn to read your system and use the right tool.

Rapid Transformational Therapy uses hypnotherapy to access subconscious patterns that keep your nervous system stuck. Many people understand their triggers intellectually, but their body still reacts - that's because the pattern is stored below conscious awareness. RTT helps rewire those patterns at the source. It's not mystical - it's accessing brain states (theta waves) where pattern change happens faster. I'm a Certified Hypnotherapist (C.Hyp) and Registered RTT® Practitioner (RTTP), and I use RTT® specifically for nervous system dysregulation patterns.

Weeks 1-2: Foundation - you'll learn to read your nervous system states and understand your window of tolerance. Weeks 3-6: Building Capacity - we work through the regulation hierarchy (external → proprioceptive → interoceptive) so you can shift states when it matters. Weeks 7-8: RTT sessions uncover and rewire subconscious patterns driving your dysregulation. Weeks 9-10: Integration - building your sustainable practice plan. You'll have tools you can use immediately and capacity that lasts.

No. EMBODY is a coaching and education programme, not ACC-claimable treatment. ACC covers registered treatment providers for injury-related claims only. This is nervous system education and regulation training, not medical treatment.

Nervous system regulation is gradual. Some people notice shifts within weeks - better sleep, clearer thinking, less reactivity. Others take longer. The RTT work in Weeks 7-9 often creates bigger shifts as we address the subconscious patterns keeping you stuck. This isn't a quick fix. It's sustainable change.

Weekly 60-minute sessions (Weeks 1–6, 9, and 10), a 90-minute RTT preparation session (Week 7), a 90-minute RTT session (Week 8), plus 10–15 minutes daily for regulation practices. Most clients find they save time because they're no longer losing hours to shutdown, decision paralysis, or trying to force themselves to do things their nervous system won't allow.

Yes. EMBODY is delivered entirely online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, so you can be anywhere in New Zealand or internationally. All you need is a private space and reliable internet connection.

We'll talk about where you are right now, what you've already tried, and whether EMBODY is the right fit. I'll explain how the nervous system hierarchy works, we'll identify your current patterns, and I'll tell you honestly whether this programme will help you. If it's not right, I'll tell you that too. Sometimes the answer is "yes, let's start." Sometimes it's "let's reconnect in 3 months." Both are fine.
